Our river

We work the Thames most weeks

The tidal Thames is our home water. Our film boat is on the river most weeks, our skippers hold Boatmaster Licences with PLA local knowledge, and we know how the tide, the traffic and the bridges shape a shoot day. We plan around all three, apply for the permissions, and turn up with the right boat in the right place at the right state of the tide.
What we do

What we do on the Thames

Pick what you need, or tell us the shot and we will put the pieces together.

For productions

Camera and tracking boats

Skippered camera, chase and tracking boats, fast or steady to suit the shot.

Picture and hero boats

The boat in the shot: yachts, workboats, tugs and passenger boats, found and crewed.

Water safety

Safety boats, water safety crew and a written plan for anyone on or near the river.

Drone filming from our boats

Aerials flown from our boats, with the airspace sorted before the day.

Night filming

Boats, lights and drones after dark, when the river and the skyline light up.

Skippers for your own boat

A skipper who knows the river, for the boat your production brings.

For brands and events

Drone light shows

100 to 450 drones lighting up the sky over the river, from £25,000 + VAT.

Brand events on the Thames

Launches, activations and roundtables on the water, run and filmed.

Drone filming

Aerials of events, vessels and the river for brands and agencies.

Thames photography

Stills of boats, events and the river, from the water and the air.

For marine businesses and owners

Films for marine firms

Your vessels and crews at work, filmed from the water and the air.

Riverside projects

Progress and time-lapse filming of piers, river walls and developments.

Superyacht filming

Arrivals up the river and through Tower Bridge, and shoots at the berth.

Where we film

Teddington to the sea, and the Medway

The tide reaches Teddington Lock, and our work runs from there through London, down the Estuary to Southend and up the Medway. Pick a place to see what you can film there from the water.
Questions

Thames questions

For commercial filming on the tidal Thames, yes. The Port of London Authority needs to know what you are filming, where, from which boats and whether it affects other river users. We apply for it as part of the job. On the Medway we deal with the harbour authority.

As early as you can, but short notice is often possible, so call us. Boats can usually be found quickly. For drone airspace, tell us as early as you can: we hold long-standing permissions across London, so we can often fly at short notice.

Wherever suits the shoot. We choose the boarding point for the location, the tide and the time of day, and send the details with the call sheet.

Yes. We plan the shore positions with the boats. Filming from the bank, a bridge or a pier needs permission from whoever owns it, separate from the river, so we flag that early.

We watch the forecast with you in the days before and make the call early. Wind blowing against the tide makes the river rough, so we plan around it. Standby and weather days are covered in your quote terms.

Yes. Down the Estuary to Southend, on the Medway, and anywhere in the UK, with our boats brought by road or the right vessel found locally.
